The Town of Madison offers local grant and loan opportunities to foster business growth and economic development. Funded by revenue from the Tax Increment Financing (TIF) District created for Backyard Farms the programs are facilitated through the Town Office and all applications are reviewed by the Board of Selectmen.

Backyard Farms: Largest Tomato Greenhouse in New England
With two greenhouses built to date, we believe Madison is the Tomato Capitol of New England! Located on River Road, there are now 42 acres of tomatoes growing under two massive glass greenhouses.
In 2017 the Madison Business Gateway transitioned into one of the State's largest Solar Arrays generating over 5Mw of power annually. The solar panels provide power for Madison Electric Works customers including those businesses located on site.
As a Certified Business-Friendly Community, Madison is ready to help your business grow or relocate. The Town Business Assistance Program offers tools such as Revolving Loans, Matching Grants and Tax Increment Financing. An expanded Pine Tree Development Zone offers assistance for businesses looking to purchase land or buildings.
