Plastics

Acceptable Items: Plastic Bottles and Containers. The types of Plastic that are accepted is #1: Disposable Beverage and Food Containers. #2: Milk Jugs, Detergent and Cooking Oil Bottles. #5 Empty Medicine Bottles and some stiffer plastics such as  microwave safe take out containers.
Preparation: Rinse or washout.
Unacceptable Items: Motor Oil containers, plastic bowls, cups, trays, film, caps or lids, dirty containers.

To check what type of plastic you have you can look on the bottom of the container and there should be a number.

Corrugated Cardboard

Acceptable Items: Non-waxed cardboard, brown paper bags.
Preparation: Break down cartons and flatten. Keep clean and dry.
Unacceptable Items: Waxed, wet and/or dirty cardboard.

Newspaper, Mixed Paper (All Colored Paper)

Acceptable Items: Boxboard/paperboard (cereal boxes, paper towel tubes, shoe boxes and similar items), foreign cardboard, paper egg cartons, all types of office/school paper, brown envelopes, manila folders, paper feed bags, paper seed bags, mail (including "junk" mail), books, magazines, catalogs, newspaper, inserts, flyers, telephone books, hardcover books.
Preparation: Keep clean and dry. Flatten boxes.
Unacceptable Items: Paper towels, napkins or plates; paper layered with plastic, waxed paper, cardboard, wet or soiled paper.

Metal Cans

Acceptable Items: Aluminum and tin cans
Preparation: Rinse or wash out. Labels do not need to be removed.
Unacceptable Items: Dirty cans, fuel containers, propane tanks, aerosol cans.

Glass Bottles & Jars

Acceptable Items: All glass bottles & jars (clear and colored glass).
Preparation: Rinse or wash out. Recycle metal lids with cans and discard plastic lids. Labels are acceptable
Unacceptable Items: Dirty bottles, ash trays, picture frames, window glass, Pyrex, crystal, china, ceramics, lightbulbs, stemware

All containers that previously contained food must be washed out and have no food residue prior to recycling
